Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Ratan Tata and NRI steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal have found place in the list of World’s 100 Most Powerful people compiled by Forbes magazine.
Dr Manmohan Singh has been ranked 36th, Reliance Industries’ chief Mukesh Ambani at 44th and Tata Group chief Ratan Tata at 59th.
US President Barak Obama was named most powerful, while Chinese President Hu Jintao and Russian PM Vladimir Putin complete the top three. Dalai Lama is ranked 39th and Pope Benedict-XVI 11th.
al-Qaida founder Osama bin Laden is at 37th place, while Indian underworld don Dawood Ibrahim is at 50th position.
