Manmohan Singh in AIIMS: Heart surgery tomorrow
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is likely to undergo a heart surgery at AIIMS around 8.15 am on Saturday. He was admitted into the hospital Today.
The surgery will be performed by a team of doctors from AIIMS and the Asian Heart Institute, Mumbai.
Foreign Affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee has been asked to function as in-charge Prime Minister and Finance Minister.
Vice-President M Hamid Ansari will give away Republic Day awards on January 26 owing to the PM’s absence.
After the surgery, Manmohan Singh may have to take rest for 4 to 5 weeks.
