A local court in Mangalore on January 31 granted bail to all the 27 Sri Rama Sene activists arrested in connection with the Mangalore pub attack. The prime accused in the case, Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik has been grated conditional bail.
The Sri Rama Sene, struck in Mangalore on January 24, when around 40 people barged into a pub on Balmatta Road and viciously attacked girls who were present there.
The Sri Rama Sene and the Bajarang Dal had separately claimed the responsibility for the attack. Prasad Attavar, State Deputy Convener of the Sri Ram Sena said that it was a spontaneous reaction against women, who flouted traditional Indian norms of decency.
