Konda Surekha Vs KCR
Former Minister Konda Surekha alleged that Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao was responsible for the stone-pelting and subsequent lathi-charge by police at Mahbubabad station on Friday on the occasion of YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s Odarpu Yatra.
Surekha, who was hospitalised after consuming sleeping pills amid high drama on Friday, said KCR’s provocative statements had triggered the series of incidents that occurred on the fateful day culminating into firing by the gunmen, “who saved our lives” from the rampaging mobs. She asserted that she was prepared for any kind of inquiry into the incidents to prove her claims.
She charged the TRS president with trying to ‘sacrifice lives of innocents’ to fulfil his political ambitions and said Mr. Rao set a target of securing 100 seats in the next elections by provoking people in the name of separate Telangana. Mr. Rao was worried only about the welfare of his family, rather than Telangana and this was evident from the fact that no member of his family suffered during the agitation.
