The war of attrition between the AP chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and YS Jaganmohan Reddy is reaching a boiling point. The Jagan camp is forcing Kiran to prove his majority on the floor of the house during the ensuing budget session. The Kiran supporters dare Jagan to topple the government.
To establish the fact that the government has lost its majority in the Assembly, Jagan Mohan Reddy, sources said, was contemplating an acid test for his 25 loyalist MLAs. He is likely to ask them to quit the Congress to make the government’s minority status official. Congress sources say that all the 25 MLAs who are now in Jagan’s camp may not resign or vote against the government as Jagan’s new party has not yet been formed.
The present political scenario indicates that a showdown between Kiran and Jagan is imminent. Meanwhile, the Telugu Desam is wary of the no confidence motion against Kiran’s government. TDP feels that the party stands to lose in case of a mid-term poll.
