Kiran Kumar: I will be aggressive in deeds
“I don’t want to be aggressive in what I say but surely I will be aggressive in all my deeds,” said Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy, on the eve of completing one year as Chief Minister.
Kiran Kumar ’s one year in office saw him overcoming the Telangana stir and the rebellion by the ‘Jagan MLAs’ and quietening the vocal ministers in his Cabinet. With the Telugu Desam chief, N. Chandrababu Naidu, embroiled in an assets’ probe, the Chief Minister can breathe easy.
The CM still faces many problems: a serious power crisis that is being worsened by drought and the Telangana issue which refuses to go away. But, Mr Reddy has done enough to give himself room to plan for the future. The future is his vision of creating 16 lakh jobs, on top of his Rs 1-a-kg rice scheme, and the Rachchabanda mass contact programme.
A confident CM says that the biggest challenge was to continue government policies and programmes and create confidence in the public that ongoing programmes will not be abruptly discontinued.
