Smita Thackeray, daughter-in-law of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, may soon join the Congress party. Smita, a film producer and social worker, is reportedly peeved at being “marginalised” in the Thackeray household and feels that the Sena is being “unfair” to Maharashtrians with its parochial politics.
Smita Thackeray is on way to joining the Congress according to MPCC Spokesperson and former minister Hussain Dalwai. Smitha is said to have publicly endorsed the policies of Sonia Gandhi and UPA and expressed satisfaction at the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.
If Smita Thackeray decides to join the Congress, then it will be a big jolt to the Shiv Sena which is already crumbling under internal wrangling.
