Jagan’s Odarpu Yatra: conflict in congress party
YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s Odarpu Yatra is all set to start in Warangal district from May 28, which may see a direct confrontation between the supporters of Jagan and his opponents. The Kadapa MP reiterated that this Odarpu Yatra is a personal agenda and did not have any political overtones. The Yatrawas meant to console families of those who died of shock or allegedly committed suicide following Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s demise in Sept. 2009. The Kadapa MP has already met such families in Khammam and East Godavari.
In New Delhi with 11 of the 12 Congress MPs from Telangana urged the congrss high command to intervene to halt Jagan’s Yatra as it may create severe law and order problem.
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao urged the state government to stop the yatra to ensure it does not lead to situation similar to what he himself created in Dec. 2009. Warangal, meanwhile , braced up for the upcoming storm with the district observing a complete bandh on Tuesday to protest Jagan’s visit.
