Jagan defies high command: Odarpu Yatra from July 8
Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Kadapa MP and son of late chief minister Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy, has asserted that his Odarpu yatra meant to console families of those who allegedly died of shock due to the death of his father, will continue on July 8 from Icchapuram in Srikakulam.
In an open letter to the people explaining the delay and uncertainty that shrouded his yatra, the Kadapa MP said the yatra was to wipe off the tears of the bereaved families and to assure them of his support. He released the letter just before leaving for Idupulapaya, the place of YSR Samadhi in Kadapa district. He said he would not go back on his promise to undertake the yatra which was first announced on September 25, 2009, from the dais of the commemoratory meeting organized in Nallakaluva in Kurnool district after his father’s death on September 2.
