Jagan Begins Indefinite Fast for Samaikhyandhra
Hyderabad, August 25 (INN): YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy began his indefinite fast in Chanchalguda Jail here on Sunday morning.
Jagan went on hunger strike demanding that the Centre maintain status quo on Andhra Pradesh. “The Centre should maintain status quo if it cannot do justice to all regions while dividing the state,” is Jagan’s sole demand. According to source, Jagan refused tea and breakfast on Sunday morning, as he began his fast.
It may be mentinoed that Jagan decided to undertake indefinite fast after police arrested YSRCP honorary president Vijayamma, five days after she undertook fast, demanding Samaikhyandhra. She called off her hunger fast on doctors’ advise.
Meanwhile, security has been intensified around the Chanchalguda Jail to prevent YSRCP activists from assembling near the jail premises
