Is God too contesting Elections 2009?

Do not be surprised. D B Devender aka Devudu ( meaning God in Telugu) is contesting from the Secunderabad Cantonment assembly seat as an independent candidate.
Devudu tried but could not get a PRP ticket in the ensuing elections, lost the recent Cantonment Board polls, and in 1999 lost as a Congress candidate from the same assembly seat.
Devudu is one of the many independents who depend on the polls aspiring to make the voters as their dependents once they win.
There are 239 independents in the 29 assembly seats in the city and 4 LS seats of Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Malkajgiri and Chevella. Some are first timers but some are once or twice bitten and never shy of being bitten again.
The way the lifestyles of politicians is changing, are we, in India, by any chance electing our governing representatives who act as self appointed gods, once they are elected?
