India hands over Mumbai terror attack evidence to Pakistan
India Today handed over to Pakistan evidence regarding the involvement of elements based in that country in the Mumbai Terror attacks and asked Islamabad to implement its commitments of mutual co-operation to bring the culprits to book.
Stepping up the diplomatic offensive, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said he had written to his counterparts around the world giving details of the Mumbai attacks and its links in Pakistan. He said that the governments around the world had been requested to mount diplomatic pressure on Pakistan to hand over the terror perpetrators to India.
Pakistan High Commissioner Shahid Malik was summoned by Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon to hand over the material.
Home Minister P Chidambaram will be leaving for USA next week to personally hand over the evidence to the US authorities.
