New airport was inaugurated in Kadapa city of Andhra Pradesh on last Sunday. The airport was inaugurated by Ashok Gajapati Raju, Union Minister for Civil Aviation. This airport was named after the famous poet ‘Thallapaka Annamayya’ belonging to the same district. Along with Mr. Raju, Union Minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu, Minister of State for Science and Technology Sujana Chowdary and the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandra Babu Naidu were also present during the inaugural ceremony.
Initially, flight service is provided between Kadapa and Bangalore. Very soon, flights will be available to cities like yderabad, Vijayawada, Vishakapatnam, Chennai and few other cities. Ashok Gajapathi Raju also commented that the airports of Vishakapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupathi will be developed according to International standards soon.
