Illegal mining scam: Yeddyurappa to step down
The Karnataka Lokayukta Justice Santosh N Hegde submitted his report on illegal mining which indicts chief minister BS Yeddyurappa of having indulged in questionable practices.
The BJP high command reportedly decided to ask Yeddyurappa to step down from the post of chief minister. He has also been summoned to Delhi to discuss about the change and the process to elect a new incumbent.
The Karnataka chief minister held confabulations with his inner circle of supporters and eliciting their views on his successor. He is expected to submit his resignation as soon as he returns from Delhi.
Former BJP president and MP D V Sadananda Gowda, Vokkaliga strong man and home minister R Ashoka and Jagadish Shettar are said to be in the race for the CM’s post.
