The CBI is carrying out searches in connection with the 2G scam, has seized a notebook with details of alleged hawala transactions from the residence of A Raja, former Telecom Minister.
The notebook, with jottings in Tamil, recovered from Mr Raja’s home in Chennai by the CBI team, reportedly contains details of hawala transactions and money paid to political figures in Tamil Nadu and to journalists. The CBI is likely to question Raja in connection with its probe into the alleged 2G spectrum scam soon, sources added.
The CBI questioned R.K. Chandolia, personal secretary to Raja, in connection with the alleged 2G spectrum scam. Agency officials also questioned former deputy director general (access services) in the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), A. K. Srivastava.
