Nizamabad, August 22 (INN): Telangana Rashstra Samithi MLA T Harish Rao alleged that the State Government was turning a blind’s eye to the attacks on Dalits in the Seemandhra region.
Talking to reporters here, Harish Rao alleged that several Dalits were being subjected to attacks by the Samaikhyandhra activists at several places in Seemandhra region. However, the administration and police were not taking any action to provide protection to Dalits. He said that the Seemandhra leaders, who were seeking protection in Telangana region, were not concerned about the safety of Dalits living in their region.
Harish Rao said that the State police branded youth as naxalites when they participated in separate Telangana movement. Multiple cases were registered against the youth when they supported the hunger fast undertaken by TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao for the cause of statehood for the region. However, he said that the police was providing protection to YSRCP’s honorary president Vijayamma’s hunger fast demanding Samaikhyandhra. (INN)
