Hyderabad, Sept 28 (INN): Governor E S L Narasimhan on Saturday accepted the resignation submitted by Minister for Animal Husbandry P Vishwaroop over the State’s bifurcation issue.
The Governor’s took the decision after Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy fowarded Vishwaroop’s resignation to the Governor for acceptance. Earlier on Thursday, Vishwaroop met the Governor at Raj Bhavan to submit his resignation in protest against the proposed division of Andhra Pradesh for formation of Telangana State. He ignored the Chief Minister’s advise to continue on the cabinet post.
It may be mentioned that two other ministers Ganta Srinivas Rao and Erasu Pratap Reddy too met the Governor on September 2 and submitted their resignations from the cabinet. Medical Education Minister Kondru Murali Mohan and Forests Minister Shatrucharla Vijayrama Raju too had submitted their resignations on August 12. However, a decision on their resignations was kept in abeyance by the Chief Minister.
The acceptance of Vishwaroop’s resignation is likely to increase pressure on other ministers from the Seemandhra region to quit from their post. (INN)
