Hyderabad, August 29 (INN): Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy on Thursday appealed to the APNGOs to call off their proposed public meeting in Hyderabad on September 7.
Talking to reporters here, Gandra said that the APNGOs proposed agitation in the city would disturb the peaceful atmosphere prevailing in Hyderabad and any Law and Order problem in the city would leave an impact on other parts of the State. Therefore, he appealed to the APNGOs to call off their proposed agitation including a Deeksha proposed to be held on September 1.
Gandra also asked the State Government to take into consideration the Law and Order issue before giving permission to the APNGOs to hold agitation in Hyderabad. He also appealed to the Congress leaders from the Seemandhra region to accept the decision of the Congress High Command and cooperate in the formation of Telangana State. He said that two States would ensure speedy growth and development of Telugu people.
He also slammed TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu for criticising Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on the State’s bifurcation issue. He said Naidu should first clarify his stand on Telangana before making remarks against the Prime Minister and Congress leadership.
