Gali Janardhan Reddy presents Rs 42 Cr crown to Tirupathi
Gali Janardhan Reddy, Tourism Minister of Karnataka and a mining mogul, presented a Rs 42 Crore worth of diamond-studded crown to Lord Venkateswara in Tirupathi.
The crown was kept in Vaibhavostava Mandapam and would put on the Lord’s idol Today.
This is hailed as the largest offerinf ever made to Lord Venkateswara in the last 400 years and perhaps the biggest offering after that made by the Kings of the erstwhile Vijayanagara kingdom.
Keertilal Jewelers of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu took nine months to fashion the crown. Gali Janardhan Reddy now holds the record of the costliest offering to Lord Venkateswara.
