Four MLAs of MNS suspended for 4 years

The newly constituted Maharashtra Assembly suspended four legislators of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for creating pandemonium during the oath taking ceremony and physically assaulting Samajwadi Party member Abu Asim Azmi, who has taken his oath in Hindi.

The four MNS legislators are Shishir Shinde, Ram Kadam, Vasant Gite and Ramesh Banjle. MNS has been demanding that all Maharashtra MLAs should take oath in Marathi only.

After Abu Asim Azmi of SP took his oath in Hindi, the MNS legislators disrupted the house and it was adjourned for 30 minutes. After the house reconvened, Ram Kadam of MNS went and punched the SP MLA.

Soon after this incident, Maharashtra Assembly passed a resolution suspending the four MNS legislators for a period of four years.
Leaders of all political parties have condemned the brutal behavior of the MNS.
