Ex-Karnataka minister G Janardhana Reddy arrested by CBI
Former Karnataka tourism minister and mining magnate G Janardhana Reddy has been arrested by a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team in connection with the illegal mining case in the wee hours of Monday and will be produced in a CBI court in Hyderabad today afternoon.
Obulapuram Mining Corporation (OMC), which is accused of illegal mining, is owned by the brothers – G Karunakara Reddy, G Janardhana Reddy and G Somashekara Reddy. The managing director of OMC Srinivasa Reddy has also been arrested.
G Janardhana Reddy is also reportedly a business associate of Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who is also facing an inquiry by CBI and ED in a case of illegal assets.
