The Election Watch AP will keep tabs on all polling booths located in the Hyderabad and Secunderabad parliamentary constituencies by deploying its representatives and observers. They will record poll violations on the polling day.
On Wednesday, the Election Watch convened a meeting of representatives of city-based non-governmental organisations, including Forum For A Better Hyderabad, MV Foundation, Chatri, APSA, NAPM, PUCAAR, COVA at COVA’s office in Charminar and discussed measures to record poll violations in 23 assembly constituencies.
The representatives of Election Watch and Chatri have already passed on information regarding distributionof saris and money to chief electoral officer (CEO) I V Subba Rao. In Moosanagar, which falls in the Malakpet assembly constituency, activists of a political party reportedly collected voter ID cards from voters. They distributed Rs 1,000 to citizens having a voter ID card and Rs 300 for others.
Similar incidents were reported at Karwan and Bahadurpura assembly constituencies. The Election Watch activists found cadre of a political party distributing saris at Bhanji wadi in Karwan to woman voters. Saris and money were also distributed at Nandimuslaiguda in the Bahadurpura assembly constituency.
