Brother Anil Kumar, preacher son-in-law of chief minister DR YS Rajasekhar Reddy, has been booked by Khammam Rural Police for violating the election code.
Bro. Anil is alleged to have addressed Christian gatherings in churches and exhorted them to vote for Congress party. He is also reported to have distributed brochures and other Congress election canvassing material along with money supposed to be for TA and DA to those who attended his prayer meetings.
The Election Code does not allow places of worship to be used for political propaganda and those who violate this provision attract punishment of up to 5 years of imprisonment.
