Diplomat Madhuri Gupta arrested for spying for Pak
Indian Foreign Service Group B officer Madhuri Gupta, 53, a senior Indian woman diplomat of the level of second secretary in the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, has been arrested for passing on Indian state secrets to Pakistan intelligence agencies since last two years.
Gupta was working in the press wing of the Indian High Commission, according to Indian intelligence sources.
Simultaneously, the station head of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in Islamabad R K Sharma has reportedly come under the scanner since Gupta, a spinster, is alleged to have been taking information from him, which was passed on to the Pakistani spy agencies.
Union Home secretary G K Pillai said Gupta had been passing information to Pakistani agencies and that she has been arrested.
