CWC to decide on Telangana issue on Nov 5?
There are sufficient indications that the Central Congress leadership and the UPA government are likely to announce their decision on the Telangana statehood issue by November 5.
According to AICC sources, the Congress Working Committee (CWC), the highest policy-making body of the Congress, will be convened after Diwali to formalise the party stand after a detailed discussion on the report submitted by Union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee.
The CWC will first formalise its stand on Telangana and thenaA sub-committee will be formed to hold discussions with UPA partners on the issue. Thereafter, all-party meetings both at national and state levels will most probably be convened by Union home minister P. Chidambaram to get the views of the parties.
