Cracks in T-JAC: Cong MLAs not for resignations

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed by the political parties from the Telangana region to champion the cause of separate statehood for Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh appears to have dissensions.

The T-JAC resolved to press for the acceptance of resignations of the MLAs on January 20. However, on the specific instructions of the Congress high command, the 51 Telangana Congress MLAs, 12 Lok Sabha MPs and 4 Rajya Sabha MPs have decided not to press for acceptance of their resignations. They were also asked not to champion the cause of separate Telangana state.

The Telangana TDP, TRS, BJP and TRS legislators said they will march to the speaker’s office on January 29 and press for the acceptance of their resignations in case the Union Government does not make a favourable announcement on Telangana by then.
