CPI Demands Geetha Reddy's Resignation

Hyderabad, Sept 18 (INN): The Communist Party of India on Wednesday demanded the resignation of Major Industries Minister Dr J Geetha Reddy from the State Cabinet as she has been named as an accused in the Disproportionate Assets case of YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Talking to reporters here, CPI State Secretary K Narayana said that Geetha Reddy should resign from her post on moral grounds. He said that Geetha Reddy should quit from the cabinet as it was done by Mopidevi Venkataramana, P Sabitha Indira Reddy and B Dharmana Prasada Rao after they were named as accused in the CBI’s chargesheet.

It may be mentioned that the CBI on Tuesday named Geetha Reddy as an accused in the charge sheets filed in the CBI Court against Indu Techzone and Lepakshi Knowledge Hub. Former minister Dharmana Prasada Rao has also been in the CBI’s fresh charge sheet filed in the Lepakshi Knowledge Hub aspect of the quid-pro-quo dealings.

Both Geetha Reddy and Dharmana Prasada Rao were questioned by the CBI last month about the LKH land allotment as it was alleged that there was quid-pro-quo in the land allotment of 8,848 acres to the Hub.
