Congress facing revolt in coastal Andhra over LS seats
The continued standstill in the choice of Congress candidates for the Lok Sabha seats in the coastal region of Andhra Pradesh is fuelling a serious rebellion from leaders of district units of the Congress party over improper selection and fielding outsiders.
The Congress high command has decided to field Purandareswari from Visakhapatnam and Panabaka Lakshmi from Bapatla and both these Union ministers are said to be reluctant to contest from these constituencies where the local leaders are opposing these outsiders.
The party legislators in the Narasaraopet Lok Sabha constituency are reported to be against the candidature of V Balasoury, a YSR loyalist.
Congress party sources say that the chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy spoiled the chances of Purandareswari getting either Narasaraopet or Ongole.
