The state government has appointed a co-ordination committee comprising Osmania University professors, representatives of students, senior city police officials and prominent personalities with no political background to deal with the situation on the campus. The members of the committee will discuss the issues and try to arrive at solutions with an aim to bring back peaceful atmosphere in the Osmania University.
This decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by home minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy. The meeting was attended by OU Vice-Chancellor, T. Tirupati Rao MLA, Ms Jayasudha, MLCs Chukka Ramaiah and Prof. Nageswar.
Meanwhile, the crime investigation department’s additional director general of police, A. Sivanarayana, has started a probe into the violence in the Osmania University on February 14 and 15.
