In a rare gesture, the President of India Pratibha Patil, brought a birthday cake for the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh K. Rosaiah, and made him cut it at a dinner hosted by the latter in the honour of the President at Jubilee Hall on Sunday night. The five-kg Black Forest cake was made in Mumbai from where the President flew to city. She also presented an engraved marble showpiece along with a birthday greeting card.
K. Rosaiah, celebrated his 78th birthday on Sunday amid much fanfare. On Necklace Road, the CM’s followers began the celebrations at midnight by bursting firecrackers and distributing sweets. This is Rosaiah’s first birthday as Chief Minister, and at a function organised in Jalavihar, he said that he would work for the welfare of the people and the state as long as he lived.
