CM Reviews Plantation Programmes of 8 Cr Saplings
Hyderabad, July 14 (INN): Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy reviewed the rainfall situation and relief measures with the Chief Secretary Dr P K Mohanty and other Officials this morning at camp office.
The Chief Secretary informed that more or less the rain has stopped and the relief measure being taken up, wherever necessary.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the plantation programme in the state and the planting of 8 crore saplings raised by various departments. He directed that all the District Collectors, Forest department, Municipalities must take up the plantation programme and complete in next two months. He particularly reviewed the plantation programme in GHMC area. The Chief Secretary informed the particulars regarding the plantation programme by GHMC, HMDA, Metro Water Board, Forest department, Irrigation Department, Panchayati Raj and other departments and instructed everybody should work with commitment for this programme.
Kiran Kumar Reddy revised the target of GHMC from 1 lakh to 2 lakh saplings. He enquired about the GHMC lake conservation Programme proposed for 108 lakes. He enhanced the number to 200 lakes and asked the Chief Secretary to facilitate with Government Orders/Instructions/funding for these Conservation of Lakes and Plantation Programmes.
In pursuance of this, the Chief Secretary Dr Mohanty visited 5 lakes this morning and participated in the Lake conservation programme taken up by GHMC.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of Hyderabad Metro Rail and Programme for Public Transport Development—for that Hyderabad Metro rail Multi Models Transport, Railway links, Outer Ring Road works Completion, 34 Radial Roads completion. The Chief Minister emphasized the model of transit oriented development with focus on Public Transport should be continuously pursued.
