Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi hosted an Iftar for Muslim children of orphanages and madarsas at a function hall near Masab Tank in Hyderabad on Wednesday evening. He shared haleem and dates along with them.
The actor-turned-politician was dressed in the traditional Muslim attire. He sported a cap and wore white kurta and pyjama.
Addressing the children, Chiranjeevi initially spoke to them in Urdu and said that the Iftars were a good tradition to promote communal harmony. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat daily, said the Iftars were generally politicised. But, this one was held with a difference.
