The decks are being cleared for Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi for launching his own political party. The actor is likely to hit the road with his own political outfit within a month, a development that is sending ripples through Andhra political scenario.
Indeed, there was speculation that he would do so after Andhra assembly by-polls. With this move, Chiranjeevi has caught his political foes off guard. Sources in his camp say Chiranjeevi would come up with his own agenda and party manifesto, which is ready. Incidentally, while the actor is giving final shape to the party’s constitution and its organizational structure, the name of the party is kept a closely guarded secret.
The party would focus on social transformation, land reforms and how to benefit from state’s abundant resources. Chiranjeevi, while promising state’s transformation, may appeal to the electorate with the slogan: “Give me a chance”.
Meanwhile, Nagababu, the star’s brother, is organizing the Chiranjeevi fan clubs into formidable district political organizations. Dr Mitra of Sparc is continuously training these district level groups in mass communications and organizational skills.
The proposed party is targeting educated youth and recently a 5K march for Chiru fans was conducted in USA, where hundreds of young IT professionals have taken an oath to support Chiranjeevi’s political party and its ideals.
The star himself is reported to have been undergoing intense training in public speaking as well as the art and science of public administration. He is said to be frequently meeting former IAS officers and a host of Senior political leaders of all hues to acquaint himself with the problems of the state and the likely manner to solve them.
Now, the only question awaiting answer is, when will Chiranjeevi make an official announcement?
