Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram said that the difficult and delicate Telangana issue needed a great degree of sensitivity in handling. He appealed for restoration of peace and order in the Telangana region. He said that the Telangana issue cannot be decided overnight.
Chidambaram said that he would convene a meeting of political parties in Andhra Pradesh on the Telangana issue only when all of them were ready to give their views. He said the government was considering the Srikrishna Committee’s recommendations.
Meanwhile, TRS and T-JAC said that would not agree for nothing short of introduction of bill in the Parliament for the creation of a separate Telangana. They said that the agitation would be continued and intensified until Telangana statehood was achieved.
