CBI raids an NGO of Karunanidhi's daughter

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted multiple raids at the homes and offices of those close to the senior-most leaders of Tamil Nadu’s DMK party including an NGO in Chennai that enjoys the patronage of Tamil Nadu chief minister Karunanidhi’s daughter Kanimozhi, Rajya Sabha MP and a staunch supporter of former telecom minister Raja.

The CBI conducted the raids at 34 places (27 in Tamil Nadu and seven in Delhi) that included senior journalist Kamaraj, an Associate Editor of pro-DMK magazine Nakkeeran, and The NGO Maiyam, run by Father Jegath Gaspar.

The raids are part of CBI’s investigation into the 2G spectrum scam.
