CBI files FIR against YS Jagan

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) issued First Information Report (FIR) against Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy as part of booking the cases and the same were handed over to the magistrate of the special court for CBI cases at the Nampally courts complex.

Jagan was booked under various sections of the IPC pertaining to cheating, prevention of corruption, money laundering, and violation of foreign exchange regulations.

The CBI constituted a multi-disciplinary investigation team (MDIT) to investigate the case. It is understood that search warrants will be issued to raid 90 locations belonging to 32 corporates and individual investors, including Nimmagadda Prasad of Matrix Labs and Vijay Sai Reddy, vice-president of Jagati Publications and Emaar Properties.

Meanwhile, YS Jagan has approached the Supreme Court to stay the AP High Court order asking CBI to conduct a full-fledged inquiry into Jagan’s assets.
