BJP Asks Yeddy To Quit Immediately
After the Lokayukta recommended B.S.Yeddyurappa’s prosecution in Rs 16,085 crore mining scam, Bharatiya Janata Party is set to pull the plug on the tainted Karnataka chief minister. The party’s parliamentary board asked Yeddy to immediately tender his resignation in wee hours of Thursday. BJP spokesman Ravishankar Prasad confirmed the news and added that Arun Jaitley and Rajnath Singh will go to Bangalore on Friday to select a new leader.
With the monsoon session of Parliament scheduled to begin from August 1, the BJP cannot afford to have its anti- corruption plank demolished by the defiant CM.
