The NDA alliance in Bihar, led by JD(U)’s Nitish Kumar, swept the polls and heading towards a three-fourth majority. It has already bagged 195 seats and leading in 6 other places in the 243-member Assembly.
The RJD-LJP alliance suffered major reverses bagging only 22 seats and leading in 6 others against its tally of 64 last time. Congress also suffered a setback winning 4 seats and leading in 1 compared to 9 seats it had won in 2005. The CPI won one seat and others 6.
Nitish Kumar and his government will be sworn in as the chief minister on Friday at the Gandhi Maidan in Patna.
