Azad’s comments fuel T- protests
The Congress MPs, MLAs and MLCs from Telangana region who have resigned demanding a separate Telangana state have commenced a 48-hour hunger strike at Indira Park in Hyderabad.
Since there is no concrete response from the Centre, following their en masse resignations, the hunger strike is aimed at highlighting their demand for T-state.
Meanwhile, the T-congress leaders are unhappy with the statement of Union Minister and in-charge of party affairs in Andhra Pradesh, Ghulam Nabi Azad, who said that wider consensus and a resolution in the assembly is necessary for the formation of a separate state. The T-leaders say that a consensus would never be possible, as legislators from non-Telangana region are more in numbers.
The T-JAC has now given a call for Rail Roko in Telangana region on July 14.
