Arun Jaitley triggers crisis in BJP
Everything seems to be not in order in the top echelons of Bharathiya Janatha Party (BJP). The factions owing allegiance to prime ministerial candidate LK Advani and president Rajnath Singh are at loggerheads.
The rift between Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley seems to have widened further, as Jaitley remained absent from the party’s second Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting being held in New Delhi today.
In spite of conciliation efforts by senior leaders, an adamant Jaitley remained defiant and absented himself for the second consecutive day of the BJP’s CEC meet.
Even Rajnath Singh has been unwilling to revoke appointment of Sudhanshu Mittal as the co-convener of BJP’s North-East affairs.
