The Andhra Pradesh High Court has upheld that the land on which Lanco Hills is being built belongs to the Waqf Board. The project belongs to Vijayawada Congress MP Lagadapati Rajgopal.
The MP has purchased about 100 acres belonging to Hussain Shah Vali Dargah under the Waqf Board during the tenure of YS Rajasekhar Reddy as the chief minister. Lagadapati’s company initially said that they would build an IT Park in this land, but soon converted this into a premium residential project.
Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader Rahaman had filed a case in state high court saying that this land belongs to Waqf Board. Justice KV Rao of AP High Court squashed a petition by Lanco Hills and confirmed that the land on which Lanco Hills is being built belongs to Waqf Board.
