AP Governor angry on Telugu daily for false report

The Andhra Pradesh Governor, E.S.L. Narasimhan, has expressed anger over a news report carried by a vernacular daily on Friday which said that during his meetings with the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, the UPA Chairperson, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, and the home minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, in New Delhi on Thursday, the Governor had submitted a report suggesting that the Hyderabad Metropolitan area should become a Union Territory in the event of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Narasimhan said that news report carried by a Telugu daily today is false, totally wrong and malicious as he had never submitted any report on such proposals.

the Governor is said to have spoken to the Chief Minister, K. Rosaiah, and told him to take action against the newspaper which carried the false report with the intention of maligning both him, personally, and the institution of the Governor.
