CWC member and MP K. Kesava Rao convened a meeting of Congress MLAs, MLC and MPs from Telangana region to be held in a private function hall on Tuesday at Secunderabad. The meeting proposes to pass a resolution in favour of creating a separate Telangana state.
The Chief Minister, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, asked the Congress leadership to stop this meeting of party leaders from Telangana. He has also talked to ministers from Telangana and warned them that if they took part in the meeting, it would send wrong signals to the party high command.
Kiran Reddy said that it was not proper to air them in public when the high command was actively considering the state bifurcation issue. He also apprised the AICC leaders, Ahmad Patel and Veerappa Moily, of the meeting.
However, Kesava Rao asserted that the meeting would be held as scheduled.
