Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah is dropping hints that he will undertake a cabinet expansion in the first fortnight of September. This move is seen as a bid to check the influence of Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on his ministers and consolidate his own position in the legislature party.
While the expansion will bring in 10 more ministers, including some seniors and young faces, the threat of being sacked hangs around 6 ministers. This could also be a carrot dangled to those looking for a better deal in state politics. One of the names doing the rounds is that of YSR’s younger brother Y S Vivekananda Reddy who recently wrote a letter professing loyalty to Sonia Gandhi.
