AP by-polls: Cong washed out, TRS wins 4 seats

The ruling Congress on Wednesday drew a blank in Andhra Pradesh bypolls as TRS candidates won four seats (Station Ghanpur, Kamareddy, Adilabad, Kollapur), while TRS backed independent (Nagarkurnool), YSR Congress (Kovur) and the BJP (Mahabubnagar) won one seat each in the by-polls held on Sunday to seven assembly constituencies in the state.

The elections were caused by vacancies that arose due to the resignations of two legislators of the Congress and four rebels of the TDP.
In Mahabubnagar, the election was held because of the death of one independent legislator, who was an associate member of Congress.
