Amar Singh on Wednesday resigned as national general secretary, spokesman and member of the Samajwadi Party parliamentary board. He has not resigned from his MP post. He cited health reasons for his resignations. He underwent a major kidney transplant operation recently and he says he resigned strictly according the advice of the doctors who want him to take more rest.
However, political analysts say that all is not well between Amar Singh and Mulayam Singh Yadav. Once considered as the right hand of Mulayam and the party’s strong man Amar Singh is reported to be having serious differences with the party president.
