Amar Singh arrested in cash-for-vote scam
Amar Singh, former Samajwadi Party general secretary, along with three other accused, Faggan Singh Kulaste, Mahavir Singh Bhagora and Ashok Argal, was on Tuesday arrested for his alleged involvement in the cash-for-vote scam.
He was denied bail and taken into custody after the court sent him to Tihar jail in the case in which he has been charge sheeted by Delhi Police after Supreme Court expressed displeasure over the shoddy probe.
The counsel for Singh had sought exemption from appearance before the court urging that his client had recently undergone a kidney transplant and was suffering from various health problems including kidney infection and high blood pressure. But the court rejected his bail plea and sent him to judicial custody.
