LK Advani is all set to step down as Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha either before the Maharashtra elections or before the winter session of the Parliament.
RSS leaders, including chief Mohan Bhagwat and senior leader Madan Das Devi had a breakfast meeting with Advani at the latter’s residence on Sunday morinig and they have reportedly discussed a road map to revamp the BJP. According to sources, Sushma Swaraj is likely to succeed Advani as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
After a string of dissident voices by Jaswan Singh, Arun Shourie, Yaswant Singh and others, Advani has been under intense pressure to vacate his position in the LS.
A possible successor to Rajnath Singh was also discussed as his term as BJP president comes to an end by December.
