Former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam has been frisked by the security staff of Continental Airlines frisked him three months ago at the international airport in New Delhi when he was going to US.
There was furore both in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha about the insult meted out to the former President.
Continental Airlines on Tuesday stated that former President A P J Abdul Kalam was not exempt from frisking before boarding the aircraft.
According to the Continental Airlines officials, Transportation Security Administration of US Department of Homeland Security (TSA) requirements impose a final security check in the aero-bridge just before boarding the aircraft. This procedure is followed by all carriers flying to the US from most of the countries in the world and there is no exemption to this rule
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has decided to file an FIR against the unrepentant Continental Airlines in connection with the frisking of former President APJ Abdul Kalam.
