24 MLAs attend Jagan's Laksha Deeksha

Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy launched his 48 hors hunger strike named Laksha Deeksha at Vijayawada today in support of relief package to distressed farmers. Thousands of his followers gathered at the venue in Vijayawada on the banks of the Krishna near the Prakasam Barrage.

Twenty four MLAs particiapated in the hunger strike; 20 from Congress and 2 each from Telugu Desam and Praja Rajyam. In addition, several MLCs and ex-MLAs also were at the venue along with 5 MPs. This is clearly a show of his growing political clout and sources say some more MLAs are likely to come to the Deeksah tomorrow.

Jagan severly criticised the state government for not giving sufficient relief to the farmers who are affected by cyclones, rains and floods.
